Specialty
Diving is a leader in the underwater cleaning, examination
and repair of vessels. We can clean the hull and polish the props
of everything from yachts to super tankers. We developed and obtained
Coast Guard approval of an underwater examination process that has
been accepted as equivalent to dry-dock. Use of remotely operated
vehicles (ROV) to support diver operations allows more detailed
hull data to be gathered than can be achieved by any other vessel
inspection system including dry-dock. The Coast Guard was so impressed
by our diver/ROV-based inspection that they said it is, "far
superior to traditional underwater survey methods, and at least
equivalent to examinations conducted in dry-dock." Specialty
Diving can satisfy all of your underwater repair needs. Examples
of our capabilities include anode replacement, sea valve change,
underwater welding and replacement of propellers, shafts, shaft
bearings, and entire bow thruster tunnels. We are approved by ABS
and other classification societies to conduct the underwater survey
of ships.

Specialty Diving takes safety
very seriously. Our drug/alcohol testing program and safety program
have allowed us to maintain an outstanding safety record. Over the
past 10 years, we have completed over 1000 projects without a serious
injury, and our EMR has always allowed us unfettered access to any
facility. Specialty's published safety manual withstood the careful
scrutiny of the Army Corps of Engineers and our safety record was
instrumental in winning the highly prized contracts with the Port
of New Orleans and a multi-year contract with the Army Corps of
Engineers.
To satisfy the stringent regulations for pipeline operators, Specialty
utilizes the services of Pipeline Testing Consortium, Inc. to manage
its DOT/RSPA drug and alcohol testing program. We have also been
accepted by National Compliance Management Service, Inc. (NCMS),
which serves as a contractor clearing house for a couple hundred
major pipeline operators.
Our operations manager has been involved in several projects that
set world records for water depth. Despite his stretching the limits
of current technology, he has always maintained an impeccable safety
record.
