Specialty Diving

Specialty DivingSpecialty Diving is a woman-owned business providing marine construction, consultation, inspection, maintenance, fabrication, salvage and repair work to government, industry, oilfield and other business clients on both a scheduled and emergency response basis. This division offers inland commercial diving services throughout the United States and should be considered your complete water services company. While proper and skillful job completion is a major group objective, Specialty remains equally focused on eliminating any lost time as well. In the office and on-site, safety is of paramount consideration and its efforts have been substantially rewarded. Because of the company’s daily emphasis on safety education, Specialty has maintained an almost near impeccable record regarding health, safety and environmental concerns throughout the years.

At Specialty Diving there is always traditional hands-on inspection and opportunities to offer creative solutions to problems old and new alike. Many of its assignments require commercial divers to perform difficult tasks in sometimes confined, acidic areas or under similar hazardous conditions including:
  • Dock inspection and repair
  • Bridge rehabilitation and pile encapsulation (over 8,000 bridge inspections to date, including repairs)
  • Lock work and sheet pile inspection
  • Pipeline penetrations
  • Inspection repair and complete rebuilding of intake cells, traveling screens and pumps
  • Power plant and utility inspection
  • Aeration pond maintenance, water tank inspections, cleanings and dredging
  • Paper mill liner replacement
  • Coatings and epoxy repair
  • Valve fabrication and installation
  • Wet welding and dam inspection including repair of draft tubes and trash racks
In the area of vessel services, Specialty Diving has been an innovator of in-water bearing and shaft change out of vessels of all sizes with Coast Guard approval. Aside from its improvements in hull inserts and replacements of props, sea valves and entire bow thruster tunnels, Specialty Diving has been the catalyst behind R.O.V. inspection work designed to duplicate a dry dock examination.
