Specialty Offshore

Specialty DivingSpecialty Offshore was established in 1997 to assist larger companies requiring commercial diving services for shallow water work. After filling its own particular niche in the inland commercial dive industry, Specialty realized it could also bring its talents to benefit the offshore industry. The first Specialty Offshore office was subsequently opened in Louisiana to meet the needs of oil field and oil field related service companies. Specialty currently operates in the Gulf of Mexico and continues to expand into international waters.

The primary function of Specialty Offshore is to maintain oil field structures and assist in a variety of related purposes. Many of its services include: inspection of oil rigs, anode installation and replacement, laying pipe, locating broken or leaking pipe and assisting in its repair, performing site clearance and ABS inspections as well as underwater burning and wet welding and a host of other functions. Company divers work in 0’-220’ with air diving and 130’-300’ with mixed gas although the majority of shallow work is performed in 60 feet or less. Specialty Offshore also owns and manages four new vessels that can be leased to clients or manned with Specialty marine crews to assist clients in their various marine projects.

Specialty Offshore has developed into a thriving entity, recognized throughout the United States and abroad with clients such as oil and gas companies, construction and engineering firms, universities and research companies, environmental agencies, the Army Corps of Engineers and the United States Coast Guard.
